I just published a new YouTube video: I Only Have One Child — Do I Still Need an Estate Plan?

If you only have one child and plan to leave everything to them, you might assume you do not need an estate plan. In some situations, that may technically work, but it often creates unnecessary delays and expense.

In this video, I explain how probate can slow down access to assets, even when there is only one beneficiary. I also discuss how using a trust can simplify the process, allow quicker access to property, and give your child authority to manage or secure assets without court involvement.

An estate plan does not have to change who inherits. It can simply make the process faster, more efficient, and less stressful.
